End of Semester Blues

So most of the semester I am in an ignorant bliss about the politics concerning Stockton.
However, they always seem to find a way to remind me towards the end of a semester.

1. They are once again charging $20 a day to live on campus over winter break.
I have stuck one to the man this semester by getting my job to ask them not to charge me.
Which worked only because Gene has connections...

2. I (including my entire apartment) have been charged a $25 fine for leaving our window open when the temperature apparently dropped below 40 degrees. They sent a flyer around advising us not to leave out windows open because it messes up the heaters. When I thought this was just a FYI, apparently it was a you better not do it or we'll take your money.
a.) I have not turned my heater on at all since it switched from AC to heat. SO my window being open will not break the heater that is never turned on.
b.) So when I am hot I must suffer through it because Stockton said so. Although if they would give us free reign over the controls to these units and I were given an option to have AC or even cool air, I probably wouldn't be leaving my window open in the first place.
c.) I couldn't even tell you which night the temp. dropped below 40. I don't carry a thermometer with me.

3. They have attached two giant car sized stickers that look like osprey to Big Blue (the gym building).
My response: WHY? It is a COMPLETE waste of money.
It looks like a young child got exciting over a sticker book and attacked the gym.
I heard it cost somewhere around a million dollars.
Thanks for spending my tuition money so wisely.

So I've found a dream job that I only need to spend the next ten years in the field to be qualified for.

I've also been considering attending the National Institute of Massage Therapy with Nicole after graduation from Stockton. So I can be a certified masseuse until I find a graphic design job. The first day of senior project Hannah told us that every year 500,000 students graduate with a BA in graphic design. Only 5,000 of those students find a full/part time job in the field... ugh. Talk about depressing. Senior Project 1 is to create our own shoe company. We must create the company, target clients, style, image, etc. Then a logo and company branding. Then we put it all into a style sheet. Then a website for the company. I'll attach my company logo later.

I hate Ethics In America, because I can't ready 100+ pages of boring things that are ethical, that are mostly common sense. While posting 3+ times to 2 topics simultaneously while being original and quoting the books/tapes/dvds. The dvds and audio tapes were made in the 70's and its boring listening to 4 professors with PhD's and one priest argue ethics. When I do too much ethics stuff I get a headache in a small dot in the middle of my forehead, and I think that's where the ethical part of my brain is. something about O <= that big. When Sarah said it was hard because she wasn't very ethical I laughed, but now I'm starting to understand.

My printmaking professor is korean, I told him the first day I was adopted but he started to test me on my korean knowledge. Test one was: as he spread ink on my etching he said he was making kimchi. then he asked "Do you like kimchi?" I said yes and it progressed from there. He also calls me Park or Min Jung instead of any variation on Mindi Bosler. Test two was: I like it (meaning my print) Then he repeated it in korean. I said thank you in korean back, and he replied with your welcome in korean. Test three was: Goodbye in korean and I insahed him back. Uh yeah... and every day he tests me a little more on my korean knowledge. He told me he's adopted but I'm 98% sure it was by another korean family because he attended high school and university in korea and only has been here 12 years. He's also like 50 something but looks like 30 something. He told me I have to go to Grad school and that's more important than getting a job right away because I'm young. He also said I must have dreams. He's real big on everyone having dreams, he made a 20 min speech the first day on everyone having to have dreams. He also said making friends is more important than the art we create. He's nice though.

How is life for everyone else? Lol.

hmmm maybe i should post a blog before a whole year has gone by without one.\
maybe i'll do a new update on my roomies for 07-08 =D

(Rt-Lft: Nicole, Chrissy, Yaimi (and her attachment Tony)

You guys all know Nicole, but alas how many have seen her with so much HAIR? So Nicole is our freakishly strong one. Nic has come to replace Kristen this year. She's the one I stay up late talking to even though i want to sleep. haha. She may be on the verge of killing someone this semester and it's not Chrissy! Who said Nic and I couldn't live together. She says I keep her sane. Nic is a Photography major with a minor in Writing and Marine Biology.

Next is Chrissy. Chrissy is definitely the mom of our apartment. This year she asked me for a favor. It was that we eat more vegetables. She's the "leader" even if no one wants a leader lol. She's also has the happy high pitched voice, but fear her when she's angry. Chrissy always asks me what she should wear to her internship, apparently I'm her fashion consultant. Chrissy is a Social Work major. Her internship is at dyfus.

Finally there's Yaimi. She's our sexy girl. She'll always be skinny... period. She eats mass amounts of food. Usually anywhere from 6-7 meals a day. She never gets full ! Attached to her is Tony. Tony spends a lot of time in our apartment because Yaimi is so sexy. They are both Physical Therapy Majors and Yaimi is also super smart. She even caught people cheating off her last semester! She is either studying or eating.

so i'm really mad at stockton housing right now.
if you want to stay at school longer than you're suppose
to you have to submit request for extended stay forms
online. which i did on friday. I'd be checking two weeks
ago but it wasn't available. so.... today i get this email
and it's an end of semester housing newsletter. inside are
the details of things you have to do and remember before
you leave for the summer... one of which is the following:

"All residential students must vacate their housing assignments 24 hours after their last exam or by 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, whichever comes first. Any student remaining in the housing facilities after the 5 p.m. deadline (or after their granted extension time) will be charged.

Residential students who have an academic commitment or personal reason to stay beyond the closing time of 5 p.m. on May 2 are required to submit an extended stay request online. Graduation seniors wishing ot stay on campus until May 6 commencement ceremony must also submit thsi request form. Extended stay request forms are available online through Housing Web Services and must be submitted by midnight Thursday, April 26. Once the student's request has been processed, he/she will recieve notification via email. Residents and graduates living in Housing I, who have been granted an extension will need to report to the Lakeside Center to have their ID card access extended."

so basically i'm screwed. I have to be out of my apartment
by 5pm and I have an exam at 8pm. so if you see me
sitting in my car in the parking lot in front of B wing... holla.
what realls makes me mad is you don't send out a newletter
on the 30th telling you that you should've submitted a request
for extended leave form on the 27th.

and what also makes me mad is that you have to be moved out
of your apartment before all the classes are finished.... nic
tells me its because of the rowdy drunk kids that use to trash
the apartments and throw wild parties after they finished their finals.

there are two more weeks of school left.
I can't believe how quickly time passed here.

my mom's surgery on monday went well.
they did a triple bypass and said everything was great.
we got to see her in icu.
she was still pretty out of it from the anesthesia.
ron said he's proud i didn't cry.
its weird how much better i feel now than before.
even though at the time i didn't think i was that stressed out.
physically and emotionally i think i am better.
right now she's in a normal room and doing good.
we wrote her a note when she was in icu but someone threw
it away before she could read it.
ron said my mom is the strongest person he knows
and i think he's right.

things will have to be different now.
we'll have to eat better because of this.
boiled chicken and steamed broccoli her we come.

i'm doing well in my classes so far
but we'll see what finals has to offer.
I still can't believe its only two weeks and im done.

i think in the summer i'll miss fencing and diner nights
and going to the gym with gabby
and crazy talks in my apartment with my roommates
but I'll be glad to be home and not have to worry about
crazy classes and not so smart professors.

maybe i'll have to get a second job if bcc won't pay me more
money than before since i won't get to work as many hours.
i don't want to go back to dairy queen.

i guess we'll have to see what happens.

I keep forgetting to clock in this week....

I have studied for my test, but obviously should study more.
I'm waiting for the copies of my taxes to get my financial aid for next year.
Yaimi, Chrissy, Nicole & I are living in H4/86-4
Garrison still has yet to give me that shark tooth.
House comes on tonight.
I have to finish painting my color bars. (STUPID CADMIUM RED)
I have to get my preceptor evaluation so i can register for class early.
I have to finish my Old Master Duplication
Pastel Dust is toxic if inhaled.
I've had my "friend" visiting for over 2 weeks... stress?
My mom will find out if she needs open heart surgery tomorrow.
Graduating from the "academy" doesn't necessarily make you smart
I wanted to go to the beach too... -.-"
I won't have class twice next week. Wednesday & Thursday. woot!
A little more than a month of class left of the Spring 07 Semester.
My haircut makes me look like Mr. Sears (Thanks Sylvia LOL)
I'm fat. haha.

Sunday I was leaving to go back to school and I said goodbye to Ron. I turn onto Junction Road and something black flies off the front of my car. From that little nook between the hood and the windshield. Suddenly I realize it's Ron's Helio. I pulled over and had to run back to get it. A huge truck almost runs it over and either it did a little or the wind from the truck send the phone soaring into the air and the battery comes off. I grab the phone and the batter and run back to my car, which is dangerously parked on the side of a road with no real shoulder and my hazards blinking. Then I call home and he's still there and he comes to get it... the last thing he says to me "Call me. LOL". -.-"

I'm so tired. maybe i'm anemic. LOL.

blah i never come on xanga anymore. lol
but since people do i thought i'd tell you about my roommates while im waiting for my clothes to dry and head back here

Nolan: She basically reminds me of Kim in like 3-4 years. LOL she's a tomboy, hates wearing her hair down. Despite her kim-like attributes she is shy but will sing and whistle around the apartment. She loves to scare Kristen, or anybody for that matter and is really good at guitar and guitar hero. lol. She is a visual communications major like me and tells me she'll share her supplies.

Kristen: I share a room with Kristen. She's nice and like the mom of our apartment. She loves to eat (but everything is low fat, low sodium, etc) lol and occasionally cooks us all dinner. She is a physical therapy major and studies ALL THE TIME. but she is very smart. lol. she got 100% on her practical. kristen = genius. lol. a few nights a week we talk in the dark before we go to bed while we listen to nolan and cerah giggle in the other room.

Cerah: She sweares she's fat but isn't and diets a lot even though she doesn't need it. she's a vegaterian and I feel bad about eating meat in the house lol. She loves animals and cries if there are puppies on tv commericals. We walk to our 6pm classes together on tues & thurs. She loves scary movies and anything with johnny depp. She took is gutiar hero fanatic. Her and nolan sing karaoke on ps2 at night. she loves take home chef and always says curtis is dashing when he says he's going to dash off to the market. lol

I got my acceptance letter to the Richard Stockton College of NJ
i have to fill out the paperwork and get a mealses shot to live in the dorms...
Chuck is meeting with his friend for a Christmas Lunch and says he'll get me
a student worker job in the computer center.

i hope to pay off my laptop by december so as not to accrue any interest
charges... >.< i'm trying to get my financial affairs in order before i go to
stockton. eek.

im excited to go and do the whole "dorm life" thing. i'll probably be in search
of another job while im there. perhaps waitressing? i can pretend to be super
nice to people. I did work at dairy queen. LOL

I <3 Christmas Songs.

I think i'm getting. fat ! T-T I'mma try to work out and not gain the Holiday Bulge. LOL
